DAVID POLLACK

SHILOH HIGH SCHOOL

David Pollack is one of the youngest members in the Inaugural Class of the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame. Pollack starred in the late 1990s for Shiloh High School and is one of only three players in program history to make first-team AJC All-State. A three-star recruit, Pollack committed to the University of Georgia, where he would leave an indelible mark on the program. He was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2002 and 2004, and was a three-time All-SEC and All-American selection. He was the recipient of numerous awards after his senior season in 2004, including the Chuck Bednarik Award (best linebacker), the Lombardi Award, the Lott Trophy (best defensive character and performance), the Ted Hendricks Award and was named the MVP of the 2005 Outback Bowl. He is the second UGA player in school history with three first-team All-American seasons and finished his career as the Bulldogs’ leader in tackles for losses (58.5) and sacks (36), a record that still stands today. Pollack was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, but retired after two seasons due to injury. He is now a familiar face on ESPN’s “College Gameday.” In 2020, Pollack was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
