MATT STINCHCOMB

PARKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

Matt Stinchcomb was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Parkview High School. He was named the 1994 Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year, a rare accomplishment for an offensive lineman, and was an AJC first-team All-State selection that same season. Stinchcomb’s senior Parkview team was the first in program history to win a playoff game. At the University of Georgia, he continued to excel, making All-American teams in 1997 and 1998. As a senior, he was the recipient of the Jacobs Trophy as the SEC’s best blocker and also won the William V. Campbell Trophy, a national award recognizing the “best combination of academics, community service and on-field performance.” He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders with the 18th overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft. He played five NFL seasons with Oakland and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was a member of the Raiders’ 2002 Super Bowl team. Stinchcomb transitioned to broadcasting in 2007 with Comcast Sports Southeast as an analyst and host. He has appeared as a commentator and college football expert on SportsNite and was a color commentator for the Georgia Bulldogs. Today, he is a college football analyst for ESPNU and the SEC Network. Stinchcomb was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
