Mike Bobo starred at Thomasville High where he was a three-sport athlete competing on the football, basketball, and tennis teams. Bobo set numerous records at Thomasville, including most passing completions in a season (145), most passing touchdowns in a season (23), and most career passing yards (5,167). The former USA Today Georgia Player of the Year quarterbacked the Georgia Bulldogs from 1994-97 and threw for 6,334 yards, the seventh-most all-time in program history. As a senior in 1997, he threw for 2,751 yards with a 65% completion percentage and 19 touchdowns. Bobo played four seasons with now head coach Kirby Smart from 1994-97 at Georgia and coached alongside him in 2005 when Smart was the running backs coach. During his 14-year stint at Georgia, Bobo helped coach the Bulldogs to 135 victories, including two SEC championships, five SEC Eastern Division titles and eight bowl victories. The 2012 Broyles Award finalist held the offensive coordinator spot for 92 games with the Bulldogs, scoring 30-plus points 57 times and 40-plus points 29 times. Bobo was also the head coach at Colorado State for five seasons before returning to UGA as a quality control analyst in 2022. Bobo was promoted to Offensive Coordinator for the Bulldogs in February of 2023 and can be seen on the sidelines every Saturday in Athens.
